THE PUMPKIN PATCH, HAYRIDES AND BONFIRES ARE OPEN AT THE AMAZING MAIZE MAZE AT RURAL HILL

Baking and carving pumpkins are now available, and each weekend hay rides are offered for a trip around the maze and farm.  The weekends also offer a bounce house and an inflatable slide for the children to enjoy.  Hayrides and the inflatable fun are available for an additional charge on Saturdays and Sundays and pumpkins are sold by their size.  “T” shirts and snacks are always available for purchase and a food vendor is on site on Saturdays and Sundays.  Rural Hill also offers fresh Christmas wreaths that may be ordered for direct delivery to your home on the day of your choice in November and December.  They make great seasonal gifts!

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary Receives Five Star Award

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center’s Volunteer Auxiliary received the Five-Star Award from the North Carolina Hospital Volunteers  (NCHV) at the organization’s 25th Annual Education Conference.

“This is the highest level award that the State Association offers,” said Marge Broughman, president of the LNRMC Volunteer Auxiliary. “We have won it for the past several years consecutively. I commend the officers and committees that worked so hard to make this possible.”

Lake Norman Regional Medical Center Leads North Carolina Hospitals in Infant Safety Program

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center (LNRMC) has become one of the first hospitals in the state to implement a new shaken baby prevention program. Maternity nurses at LNRMC now provide program materials and information to parents of all babies born at the hospital before they are discharged.

“This is a new program we implemented this month,” said Marie Marks, RNC-OB, Assistant Director of Women's Services at Lake Norman Regional. “It is a voluntary state-wide program. We chose to participate as we felt it would be a big benefit for our patients and the community.”

High Rock Increases Prices as Over 100 Townhomes are Reserved

SPENCER, NC – Oct. 6, 2008 - With nine months until the official facility grand opening, High Rock Raceway officials today announced that a limited number of townhomes remain for sale.

More than 100 of the 120 race townhomes already are off the market, and officials said this week that, effective immediately, prices on the remaining units will increase.

“We are delighted to have crossed the 100 unit threshold in reserved units” said Dave Risdon, High Rock’s Chief Executive Officer.  “We plan on closing on our financing in October and bringing out the road graders in full force.”

LAP-BAND® Total Care Champion

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lake Norman Regional Medical Center’s (LNRMC) Bariatric Surgery Program has been named a LAP-BAND® Total Care Champion.

Four staff members from LNRMC’s Center for Surgical Weight Loss at Lake Norman also received certification as LAP-BAND Total Care Champions. Medical Director Dr. Ryan Heider, Director of Bariatric Services Laurie Brown, Registered Dietician Susan Poludniak, and Administrative Assistant Cindy Contos were recognized for their dedication to providing optimal care for LAP-BAND System patients.
